After over 200 people have responded to our survey, we have combined the most popular answers into a description of the average lactose intolerant person. We hope this makes you all realise that you are not the only person who is lactose intolerant and that we at lactose.com.au will continue to do our best to help and inform the lactose intolerant community. Here she is...
I am around 30 and female and I live on the east coast of Australia.
I have been avoiding dairy for less than a year now and am the only one in my family who is affected.
I generally avoid dairy, but I sometimes have it.
I rarely search the internet for information about being lactose intolerant, but when I do its usually at lactose.com.au or on search engines and sometimes I find information out through family and books.
I almost always buy lactose free products at the supermarket.
Even though I spend less than $35 a fortnight on these products, I do struggle to find them again next time.
I don't travel out of my way when buying these products but would try buying food online if I couldn't find it locally.
I know about the brands Liddells and So Good and enjoy milks and yogurts the most, but I wonder if there are lactose free products available for cheeses, creams, chocolate or ice creams.
I find lactose.com.au to be really good but would like to see a list of lactose free products available and recipes.
Thanks Lizzie Lactose
